Bel Air High School, 100 Heighe Street.
36 years after the SSO’s weekend-long Schubert Symposium in 1989 with Schubert scholar Brian Newbould, the Orchestra will once again perform his symphony No. 7 realization, an academically informed completion of an incomplete score. Then the Deer Creek Chorale and Goucher Choral Society will join the Orchestra for a variety of works, including “Illuminare” (guest conducted by Michael Semancik), followed by John Williams’ moving “Hymn to the Fallen” from Saving Private Ryan, and a new and exhilarating composition by Philadelphia composer and SSO friend, Kile Smith. 3pm. Admission is $20 online (discounts for seniors and students), $25 at the box office (discounts for seniors and students).
