48th Season in 2024-2025: Awaken to the SSO’s 48th Season!
The SSO’s 48th season opening concert is mostly about waking up in one way or another. Bach’s very famous “Sleepers Awake” cantata is a fitting introduction to the concert, while the first of Haydn’s London Symphonies includes a loud flatulent in the third movement! The waltz from Tchaikovsky’s famous ballet, “Sleeping Beauty” is also a proper addition, as is the fabulous orchestral suite from John Williams’ “The Force Awakens”. The same composer’s lovely theme from “Angela’s Ashes” is situated between the Tchaikovsky waltz and Star Wars!
