Harford Plein Air is a painting competition that involves creating art in the open air. Artists from all over the US are juried into the competition through an application process. The selected artists are invited to paint various outdoor locations in Harford County and submit their paintings to be judged for prestigious awards.
The festival will be virtual this year,
following COVID-19 travel restrictions. All juried artists will submit a maximum of five paintings for award consideration on September 18; artists residing beyond the Harford County area may enter a maximum of two works (of the five total) painted outside Harford County for Honorable Mention award consideration only. All other paintings must be painted in Harford County. - Works-in-progress will be posted daily on Maryland Center for the Arts’ Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and LinkedIn accounts.
