HARFORD PLEIN AIR

Harford Plein Air is a painting competition that involves creating art in the open air. Artists from all over the US are juried into the competition through an application process. The selected artists are invited to paint various outdoor locations in Harford County and submit their paintings to be judged for prestigious awards. The paintings are sold at a gallery sale, with a portion of the art sales benefitting the Maryland Center for the Arts. Schedule for the week is as follows:
Sunday, October 6, 2019:
- Juried Artist Check-In: 9am-11am at Lirodendron Mansion 502 W. Gordon St. Bel Air, MD
- Art Sale and Reception 1pm-4pm at Liriodendron Mansion
Monday, October 7, 2019:
- Second Painting Day throughout Harford County (Special Painting Locations TBA)
Tuesday, October 8, 2019:
- Third Painting Day throughout Harford County (Special Painting Locations TBA)
Wednesday, October 9, 2019:
- Fourth Painting Day throughout Harford County (Special Painting Locations TBA)
Thursday, October 10, 2019:
- Final Painting Day in Harford County (Special Painting Locations: TBA)
Friday, October 11, 2019:
- Collectors’ Preview Party and Artist Awards Ceremony 6:30 – 9pm

$50 per individual, $75 per couple, counts as a $50 voucher towards painting purchase.

11:30-1:00pm Art Sale and Awards Ceremony held along Left Side of Harford Sheriff’s Office (in grassy park and sidewalk)
Entry Fees
$25 for Adults (age 18 and older)
$10 for Students (4th grade – 12th grade)
*Children in 3rd grade and below are welcome to paint for free.
*Online registration is recommended for faster check-in.
