The program will feature bright and cheerful music including the final movement from Beethoven’s 9th Symphony, a timeless choral favorite, Handel’s Ode to St. Cecilia, and Bach’s Jesus bleibet meine Freude. The women of the chorus will sing O Virtus Sapientiae, composed by Hildegard von Bingen, a German Benedictine abbess, the full chorus will perform pieces by Thomas Weekles and Benjamin Britten and will premier an original composition entitled Burst into Joyful Song by Richard Maltz, a HCS singer.
