It’s back! The Harford Artists’ Association kicks off the New Year with its annual Starving Artists Exhibit at their gallery in Bel Air. With its location just off Main Street behind the Armory, Harford Artists Gallery is just steps away from other great shopping at Armory Marketplace and throughout downtown Bel Air. Plus, it’s a great place to visit on a winter afternoon before or after you enjoy a meal at one of Bel Air’s many local eateries.
The Starving Artist’s Exhibit will run now through February 28th. All two and three dimensional, framed and unframed artwork produced by members of Harford Artists’ Association is priced at $199 or less. Gallery Director and President of Harford Artists’ Association, Susan Zanella, says, “Since we have been spending much more time at home these last few months, it’s time to update your walls and space! The Starving Artists exhibit pricing allows everyone an opportunity to own wonderful original art from local artists. Even just a visit to the Gallery will lift your spirits and you never know when you’ll spot the piece of art that has to come home with you, or that will make the perfect gift.” Adding artwork from Harford Artists Gallery to your home allows you to show your support to a local artist, to own a piece that is unique to you and that you feel a connection to. Especially during the pandemic, surrounding ourselves with art and creativity can help to reduce stress and is good for our mental health.
The exhibit includes oil, acrylic and watercolor paintings as well as photography and pen and ink drawings. Sizes of the pieces vary so you are sure to find just the right piece for your home or to give as a gift. The gallery also carries pottery, original note cards, decorative gourds, and hand-made one-of-a-kind jewelry and scarves.
The Harford Artists Gallery is located at Armory Marketplace in the heart of Bel Air just behind the Armory on Main Street. Hosting six exhibits annually in addition to their workshops and community events, Harford Artist’s Association is a growing county wide non-profit organization over 300 members. The Starving Artists Exhibit runs January 2nd – February 28th. Gallery hours are Wednesday through Friday, 10:00am – 6:00pm and Saturday and Sunday 10:00am – 4:00pm. Masks are required and COVID-19 safety guidelines, including social distancing and a limit on the number of visitors, are being strictly followed.
