Fifth Annual Authors & Artists Gift Sale
Choose unique holiday gifts and enjoy the sounds of the season at the fifth annual Authors and Artists Holiday Gift Sale. More than 40 Harford County authors and artists will fill the Bel Air Armory for a one-stop holiday shopping destination on Saturday December 3rd from 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. The event will also feature live holiday performances throughout the day. On the way out the door, visitors can stop by the Bel Air Downtown Alliance table, where volunteers will gift wrap purchases for free.
Shoppers on the hunt for inspired gifts will discover paintings, ceramics, pottery, jewelry, photography, glass ornaments, prints, note cards, artisan gourds and hand-sewn fabrics. Harford’s participating authors cover most fiction and non-fiction genres including historical novels, suspense, genealogy, nature, fine photo journals, children’s books as well as local poetry.
Scheduled performers include Bel Air Pop Choir and Jazz Band, Theatreworks…Live!, Just for Fun Singers and cellist Megan Beichler.
New this year, artists from the ARC Northern Chesapeake Region will participate as vendors. They will offer a wide selection of paintings, prints and holiday cards. Today’s 101.9 WLIF FM Friends & Neighbors van will also be in front of the Bel Air Armory with music, games, prizes, and more.
Parking in downtown Bel Air is free on weekends. Additional free parking is available just around the corner on Lee Street at Bel Air Elementary School.
While you’re on Main Street, head to Armory Marketplace (directly behind the Armory through Armory Park) to see the newly opened Harford Artists Gallery which features artwork in a variety of mediums produced by local artists who are members of the non-profit Harford Artists’ Association. There are also plenty of boutiques to visit while downtown and great places to grab a bite for lunch.
Authors and Artists Gift Sale is sponsored by the Town of Bel Air, the Maryland State Arts Council through the Harford County Cultural Arts Board, the Town of Bel Air Cultural Arts Commission and the Bel Air Downtown Alliance. The event is supported by the Bel Air Arts and Entertainment District.
