Irishman’s Chorale Comes to Bel Air!
Each March in recent history, the Town of Bel Air Cultural Arts Commission has sponsored a free concert that is open to the public in honor of St. Patrick’s Day. Amhránaí Na Gaeilge, the Irishman’s Chorale, is comprised of approximately 50 members from all over central Maryland and has been in existence for over 30 years. The chorale is one of the largest all male Irish choruses in the United States and the members are dedicated to the preservation of Irish culture and history through music.
This year’s concert will be held Saturday, March 5, 2016 at St. Matthew Lutheran Church located at 1200 East Churchville Road. Doors open at 6:45 and the concert will begin at 7:30. The chorale will entertain with its wonderful mix of traditional and contemporary music by Irish composers and lyricists. The director and members will charm the listeners with fun loving stories which promise to leave every audience member wanting more. Young and old will delight in the variety of songs performed from sea shanties to spiritual songs to ballads. Some familiar and some brand new!
The Town of Bel Air Cultural Arts Commission is dedicated to making all forms of art available to the residents of Bel Air and this annual concert is a highlight for sure!
